Sometimes you want a haunted manor, a cursed film, or a cybernetic assassin hunting you through neon-lit streets.
You don’t necessarily want three hours of preparation, six scheduling conflicts, and a campaign that collapses because “Greg got a new job.”
That’s why I created Case Closed: Quick Mysteries for Monster of the Week No. 1.
And with v1.1, I made it much better for solo players.

Thirteen Monsters — Eight Settings
The collection includes 13 ready-to-play mini-mysteries spanning prehistoric, medieval, Gothic, Victorian, 1920s, modern, cyberpunk, and dystopian settings.
Each case provides the monster, its powers and weaknesses, its sinister plan, key locations, and the people unfortunate enough to get involved.
You can play with a group or investigate alone.
You can even choose between experienced Hunters and ordinary Survivors desperately trying to escape.
But How Do You Solve a Mystery You Already Know?
That’s the interesting part.
In the official Case Closed format, you already know what the threat is.
Knowing a ghost is bound to a locket doesn’t tell you whether you’ll reach it in time, whether your companion survives, or what escapes when the haunting ends.
The suspense comes from discovering how the case unfolds—and what your decisions cost.
What’s New in Version 1.1?
The expanded solo toolkit includes:
A simple d6 Oracle with adjustable probabilities.
New Hand-Drawn & Painted Artwork.
Plot hooks and action-packed opening generators.
Random events, clues, and 8 setting-specific twist tables.
A Danger Tracker that pushes every investigation toward its climax.
100 Verbs and 100 Nouns for MANY possible narrative prompts.
Optional lethal rules and a complete solo-play example.
Roll a prompt like Protect + Witness, and suddenly the person who knows the monster’s weakness is trapped upstairs.
Roll Betray + Ally, and your helpful companion becomes a very different problem.
Same mystery. Different nightmare.
Case Closed: Quick Mysteries for Monster of the Week No. 1 uses the official Case Closed rules and requires Monster of the Week and Codex of Worlds—Apocrypha.
Because sometimes you don’t need a sprawling campaign.
You just need a monster, a mystery, and enough luck to make it out alive.
