Significant progress has been made since my first Development Log.
This post consists of the following:
Don’t Overthink It RPG (Fantasy) - ‘DO-IT System’
Sparkbound - Universal Game Engine & Solo Journaling RPG
Don’t Overthink It RPG (Fantasy) - ‘DO-IT System’
I will admit that I was quite surprised…. well, shocked actually, at how many grammatical errors I had made in v1.2a of the system. I think that I was focused on making the system as condensed as possible, and I rushed through proofreading.
The current version that I am working on is v1.21a.
Note: The current file on DriveThruRPG has not been updated yet.
I realized that I should have done v0.1a, v0.2a, v0.21a for the Alpha versions, oh well, c’est la vie!
Among many things that I have been updating on this system, one of which is creating a Table of Contents, didn’t know why I didn’t create one in the past.
As you can see that I am strict with only having one page (A5 size) per topic. This wasn’t an easy task.
The plan is to have an artwork banner on the top of each page, which is still WIP.
I am going to be playtesting the system more as well. I also want to continue using it with my Solo-Community Campaign.
Supplement & Example Section - Don’t Overthink It RPG (Fantasy)
I have been working a bit more with the approx. 40-page supplement that is included with Don’t Overthink It RPG (Fantasy).
Also, I want to restructure and finally add pages to the TOC.
The key to this system is to be easy to understand, easy to teach, and fun to play. With that being said or written, I think I might have been overzealous in this supplement.
Mirewake Setting
I am playing around with the idea to include and modify my setting of Mirewake and include it as an additional supplement with Don’t Overthink It RPG (Fantasy).
I’m putting a pin in that idea, though. We’ll see…
Sparkbound - Universal Game Engine & Solo Journaling RPG
I have to admit…
Sparkbound has become one of my favorite products that I have created to date.
I absolutely love the mechanics, I love that it is a trifold, I love that I realized that it can be a Genreless system, etc.
Note: The current product on DriveThruRPG has not been updated as of yet.
Many Modifications have been done, but the core system is still primarily intact
Note: The product is still contained in a trifold.
Here are some of the changes & additions I have made:
Included a Solo Oracle & Random Event Table
Created Skills
Created Stunts
Created Tags
Modified Attributes
Created Luck Points
Added Critical & Legendary Sparks
Character Advancement Rules
Victory Points (aka Health Points)
and much more
I have created a list of genres for future expansions of the Sparkbound System.
Urban Survival, currently, is the only one that I am going to include in the main product when purchased. It will feature hand-drawn, possibly hand-painted artwork, a list of skills, a list of stunts, and a list of tags, all centered on the genre of ‘Urban Survival.’
And that’s about it for this Development Log.
Thank you for reading!
And as always, Happy Gaming!
